Whether it’s with onion skins, rubber bands, pom poms or glitter, there are so many ways to decorate Easter eggs.

Here are some crafty ideas that are fun and easy!

1. Glitter

To make sparkly eggs, you will need to hollow out the egg first.

You can do that by pushing a pin into the egg on the long end.

Then, make a hole on the other end. One hole should be larger than the other. Put the needle into the larger hole and break the yolk.

Over a bowl, blow forcefully into the little hole to remove the inside.

In the above video, Jessie Jane from Lilyshop first applies Mod Podge crafting glue to the egg with a brush.
Then she pours the glitter directly on the egg.

Make sure to do this over a bowl, for less mess, and so you can reuse the excess.

Wait one hour to dry. When it’s completely dry, you apply a second, thinner, layer of Mod Podge.

2. Organic

Red cabbage, onion skins, beets, and coffee can be used to color your eggs.
This is a healthy alternative and also affordable.

According to Martha Stewart, you will need to use these measurements:

Red-cabbage dye: 4 cups chopped cabbage
Onion-skin dye: 4 cups onion skins (skins of about 12 onions)
Beet dye: 4 cups chopped beets
Coffee dye: 1 quart strong black coffee

Place your ingredient of choice in a pot, and add 1 quart water and 2 tablespoons white vinegar. Bring it to a boil, then lower your heat. Let simmer for 30 minutes.

3. Sticker Stencil

Apply small stickers to your hard-boiled egg.

Then, dunk the eggs in dye to soak for 5 minutes.

Let them dry for another five minutes.

After they are dry, peel off the stickers.

4. Bunny & Carrot

For the bunny:

Glue on a mini pink pom pom for the rabbit’s nose.

Cut out ear shapes from white card stock and glue to the top of the egg.

Draw eyes and whiskers on the egg with a black marker.

For the carrot:

Use dye to make the egg orange.

Cut 5 pieces of ribbon, each about 10 inches long.

Stack the ribbon pieces together, fold the stack in half, and staple them at the fold.

Using a scissor, curl the ribbon.

Fold a small tab in the ribbon where you stapled.

Then put glue on the tab and attach to the top of the wider end of the egg.

5. Rubber Bands

Add rubber bands around the white egg and place in the dye.

You can also dye the egg in one color first, and then put rubber bands around the already dyed egg and place it in another color.
